Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP) and Volunteer of Legal Service (VOLS)

Planning For Your Future is a booklet that explains the importance of life planning for low-income seniors. This project stemmed from my time as a Design as Justice fellow.

Over the course of several months, the CUP and VOLS team and I worked on developing and refining the design, content, and structure of the booklet to best support the needs of both the VOLS team and the seniors and families they’d be working with.

Sharing early cover options with the team.

VOLS staff, Peter Kempner, gives feedback to the team on a version of the design.

πŸŽ‰ Impact πŸŽ‰

The project succeeded in meeting the first impact goal - from Aug 2021-2022 and Aug 2022-2023 and there was an 85% increase in the amount of documents drafted with VOLS.

πŸŽ‰ Impact πŸŽ‰

Seniors involved in the feedback process appreciated that we listened to their needs and wishes, and actually implemented them into the design of the booklet.
